Dallas native, Mary M. Lee, is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of North Texas. Her professional life has been focused on digital content strategy and creation, information architecture, UX writing, online marketing, and user interface design that is rooted in empathy and humility.
Her voice offers a very unique mixture of more elevated, spiritual literary prose with a folksy bluntness and charm that packs powerful, succinct truths into authentic, real-life moments.
She first separated from her ex-husband when her sons were 12, 8, and 4 months old. She believes that single moms were made for more than the rinse-lather-repeat cycle of destructive relationships, and that the key to living free is knowing your identity in Christ. This isn't some people-pleasing, legalistic, performance-driven, pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps life, but rather a wholehearted, passionate pursuit of the living God who loves you unimaginably more than you could ever dream.
After a three-year journey of transcribing volume after volume of handwritten notes from years of counseling, Mary was inspired by Matthew 13:52 to share the treasures in her heart so that other single moms could enjoy all of the following and more as beloved daughters of the most high God:
